Brother Joseph Kiely

Brother Joseph Kiely was Principal from 1967-1972. His philosophy of Education was Love and Success.

A pupil must be loved and know that he is loved. A pupil must enjoy success.

There can be no learning process without these two pre-conditions.

He set up the Guidance and Counselling Unit to enable students to develop a well-formed moral compass, allowing them to navigate fluidly between emotion and reason, idealism and pragmatism. During his stewardship of the school, St. Patrick’s School attained new levels of success in sports and academics.
